JAMAICA

Jamaica is an island that is in located in the Caribbean Sea,as capital is Kingston. On this island more than two million people speak English, because of the English army colonized it in 1955 and they rule there during 200 years; in this two hundred years Jamaica was the best sugar-exporting and Jamaican people could abolish the slave-trade.

The 6 of august from 1962 Jamaican citizen got the independence from the UK, and in this moment they passed to be a province of the West Indies Federation.

Jamaica is known for its rich culture and music, which have made the island famous around the world, as in this countrie was born a lot of music types as ragga or Ska. But without question Jamaica is famous for reggae music and Rastafarian culture, and specially for Bob Marley's songs and his life style.

The Rastafarian have their own religion, this religion came from Ethiopia. You can distinguish Rastafarian from the other people because the most of them have dreadlocks because they try to simulate the hair of the lion from the Ethiopia´s flag,in his heads they wear tams, that are handmade hats their most common clothes are wide trousers and comfortable clothes made from plant fibers. All his clothes have this three colors:Yellow,green and red. Because these three colors are the colors of Ethiopia´s flag.

The best ambassador of this religion was the singer Bob Marley who brought this religion worldwide with his songs and his guitar. We can see in this photo of Bob marley the dreadloks in his head and the t-shirt with the colours of Etiophia´s flag.

Now jamaica it's one of the most popular places to visit, maybe his beachs are very beautiful or because Jamaica haves one of the most interesant cultures, the rastafarian, the culture of one of the best singers in the history Robert Nesta Marley (Bob Marley).

If we go to Jamaica there are two sites that we mus visit:

-Montego Bay, that is a city in the northwest of the island and is the second most important city after the capital (Kingston).

-The waterfalls of Dunn´s river that is in the city of "Ocho Rios".
